Art 2 - Teen Studio

A creative studio programme for young artists ready to develop their skills and artistic voice

Service Description

Art 2 is designed for older students who are beginning to think more deeply about technique, personal expression and creative problem-solving. These sessions offer a more advanced, studio-like environment where young artists explore a wide range of materials, experiment boldly and start shaping their individual style. What students learn Each term, Art 2 explores both traditional and contemporary techniques, working across: • drawing and sketching (including proportion, shading & perspective) • acrylic and watercolour painting • mixed media layering • creative journaling & sketchbook development • clay & 3D form • printmaking, collage and experimental materials • portraiture, character design & illustration fundamentals Projects become increasingly personal, encouraging students to develop ideas, make creative decisions and build confidence in their choices. A studio environment for growing artists Unlike the more guided structure of Art 1, Art 2 offers: • more independence • longer, more complex projects • technique-focused demonstrations • deeper exploration of themes and concepts • space for individual creative direction Students are encouraged to bring their own interests into their work — whether that’s illustration, realism, abstract painting, sculpture or character design. Portfolio support (optional) For those preparing for secondary art scholarships, GCSE, A-Level or future creative pathways, our educators can support: • developing a sketchbook • strengthening observational drawing • refining techniques • presenting finished pieces • creating a cohesive body of work This is offered gently and individually — never pressured — so each student progresses at their own pace. Our teaching approach Our art educators guide students with thoughtful instruction, one-to-one support and inspiration from contemporary and traditional artists. We emphasise skill-building, creative confidence and helping young artists discover what excites them most. Materials & outcomes All materials are included. Students finish each term with a body of work that reflects both their technical growth and their personal artistic style.
