Service Description
Art 2 is designed for older students who are ready to think more deeply about technique, personal expression and creative decision-making. These sessions offer a more advanced, studio-like environment where young artists explore a wide range of materials, develop stronger practical skills and begin shaping their individual style. WHAT STUDENTS EXPLORE: Across the term, students work through both 2D and 3D projects using drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media and experimental materials. Themes may include portraiture, still life, landscape, illustration, model-making, visual storytelling and seasonal projects. WHAT STUDENTS LEARN: Each class helps students strengthen key art skills such as observation, proportion, shading, perspective, colour, composition and creative problem-solving. Projects become increasingly personal, encouraging students to develop ideas, make creative choices and build confidence in their artistic decisions. A STUDIO ENVIRONMENT FOR GROWING ARTISTS: Compared with Art 1, Art 2 offers more independence, longer and more developed projects, technique-focused demonstrations, deeper exploration of themes and more space for individual creative direction. Students are encouraged to bring their own interests into their work, whether that is illustration, realism, sculpture, abstract ideas or character design. PORTFOLIO SUPPORT: For students beginning to prepare for scholarships, GCSE, A-Level or future creative pathways, our educators can gently support sketchbook development, observational drawing, technique refinement and the presentation of finished work. This is offered individually and without pressure, so each child can progress at their own pace. OUR TEACHING APPROACH: Our educators guide students with warmth, encouragement and clear artistic instruction. We combine skill-building with creative freedom, helping each young artist grow in confidence, develop stronger techniques and discover what excites them most. MATERIALS & OUTCOMES: All materials are included. By the end of the term, students take home a body of work that reflects both their technical growth and their developing personal style.
