Where are you located?

We are located on the First Floor of 5 Lacy Road, Putney, SW15 1NH. Our entrance is through Gail's Bakery Putney — just head inside and come upstairs.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes — there are a few options close by:
Putney Exchange shopping centre car park
Street parking on surrounding roads (paid)
Lidl car park directly across the street — 90 minutes free for Lidl customers, though spaces are not guaranteed

Should you book your place before you come?

Yes — we recommend booking ahead, as spaces are limited and we keep our groups small and focused. You can secure your place through our booking page.

What ages can join your classes?

We offer classes and workshops for children and young people from ages 3–16+, with different sessions designed around age, experience and interests. Our programme includes Little Sprouts, Art 1 – Young Creators, Art 2 – Teen Studio, Art Focus – Themed Afternoons, Anime & Manga Drawing, Sugarcraft & Icing, GCSE, A-Level & Portfolio Support, holiday workshops and selected adult classes. Age guidance is clearly listed when booking.

How much do classes cost?

Little Sprouts (1 hour) — £22 per session
Art 1, Art 2, Art Focus & Art & Movement (1 hour 15 mins) — £25 per session

How do term bookings and payments work?

Our classes run in line with the school term, so you can book a place for the term ahead. You can pay securely at checkout using a credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. If you’re unsure which option is best for you, just take a look at the booking page.

Are trial sessions available?

Yes. Trial sessions are available for new students, subject to availability. This is a great way to experience a class before committing to the term.You can book a trial through our website or get in touch via WhatsApp on 07949 773 703 or email contact@theartloft.uk.

Do you provide everything needed for the class?

Yes — you don’t need to bring a thing. We provide all the materials you need for the session, including paints, tools, clay, mixed media and sketchbooks.

What should my child wear?

Art can get messy — we recommend sending your child in clothes they don't mind getting creative in! We provide full-sleeve aprons for Little Sprouts, and aprons are also available for older children.

Do parents stay for the class or is it a drop-off session?

Our classes are drop-off sessions. You’re welcome to help your child settle in, and then we ask parents and carers to wait outside the studio. It helps children relax, focus and grow in confidence in their own creative space.

Can I bring a pram?

Absolutely — prams and buggies are welcome upstairs in the studio.

Who teaches the classes?

Our sessions are led by experienced art educators and practising artists. All teachers working with children are DBS-checked, and committed to nurturing every child’s creativity and confidence.

Do you provide snacks or lunch?

For term-time classes, children are welcome to bring a small nut-free snack if needed. During holiday workshops, we offer an optional supervised lunch hour between the morning and afternoon sessions. Children can bring their own nut-free packed lunch.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer one make-up session per term if your child needs to miss a class. Please contact us in advance so we can arrange an alternative date.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

No — our classes are kept intentionally small and priced per individual place, so we do not offer sibling discounts at this time.

Can you host an art-themed birthday party?

Yes! We host personalised art birthday parties in our Putney studio for up to 16 children, with a choice of creative themes and optional catering and birthday cakes. Visit our Birthday Parties page for full details and availability.

Can my child bring their own art project?

Children are welcome to share what they have been working on, but all sessions follow that day's planned curriculum.

What is included in a Sip & Paint evening?

Each evening includes guided painting, all materials, wine and nibbles. We provide everything you need, so you can simply arrive, settle in and enjoy the creative flow.

What is a C.I.C.?

The Art Loft is a Community Interest Company (CIC) — a type of social enterprise that exists to benefit the community rather than generate private profit. This means everything we do is reinvested back into providing high quality, accessible creative education for children in Putney and the surrounding area.

Can I book a private Sip & Paint event?

Yes — private bookings are available. It is a lovely option for birthdays, celebrations or team socials. Please get in touch with us to discuss your date and group size.

Are your adult art classes suitable for beginners?

Yes — absolutely. Our adult classes are open to all levels, including complete beginners. Ziggy creates a friendly, supportive space where you can explore different materials and build confidence at your own pace.
