Service Description

Art Focus is a specialised programme for children and teens who want to explore a particular artistic theme or technique in greater depth. Each block is built around a curated focus — such as illustration, printmaking, sculpture, pattern, fashion, or a featured artist — giving students the chance to slow down, experiment and build new skills with intention. Unlike our Art 1 and Art 2 classes, which explore a broader range of materials and weekly themes, Art Focus zooms in on one area at a time, offering a more immersive and project-led experience. WHAT STUDENTS EXPLORE Each Art Focus cycle centres on a single theme or creative direction. Projects may include character and creature design, drawing and illustration, expressive painting, clay and 3D form, printmaking, pattern, collage, mixed media storytelling, artist studies, nature-inspired work, architecture, fashion illustration or design-led making. This flexible format allows students to experience art in a fresh, engaging way while still developing strong visual and technical foundations. HOW THE SESSIONS WORK Each class begins with a short warm-up, prompt or artist reference to introduce the theme and get ideas flowing. Students then spend the rest of the session developing a themed project over time, with space to experiment, refine and make creative decisions of their own. Because the theme continues across the block, students experience a deeper creative process and have the opportunity to produce more thoughtful and developed work. A MULTI-AGE CREATIVE SPACE Art Focus is open to ages 5–16, with projects tailored to suit different stages and confidence levels. Younger artists receive more guidance and technique support, while older students are encouraged to experiment more independently, take creative risks and develop ideas further. This creates an inspiring shared studio environment where children of different ages can learn side by side, each at their own level. OUR TEACHING APPROACH Sessions are led by experienced art educators who guide students through demonstrations, creative prompts and individual feedback. We encourage curiosity, personal interpretation and artistic confidence, helping each student develop their own ideas and creative style. MATERIALS & OUTCOME All materials are included. Students complete one or more themed artworks during each block, building both practical skills and confidence through a more focused creative journey.
