Art & Movement - Weekend Sessions
A creative weekend blend of art, movement and playful exploration. Led by Zhigang and Sarina
Service Description
Art & Movement is a joyful weekend class that helps children connect their bodies, imaginations and creativity through expressive, hands-on making. These sessions encourage freedom, curiosity and physical engagement, helping young artists feel confident, grounded and inspired as they create. Through guided movement, mark-making, sensory exploration and themed creative prompts, children learn to express ideas not only with their hands, but with their whole body. WHAT CHILDREN EXPERIENCE Art & Movement brings together visual art and gentle physical expression through activities such as large-scale painting, movement-based mark-making, collage, printmaking, sculpture, storytelling through gesture, and sensory-led creative play. This combination helps children develop confidence, spatial awareness, coordination, fine and gross motor skills, while also encouraging imagination and joyful self-expression. HOW THE SESSIONS WORK Each class follows a gentle and engaging rhythm. Children begin with a movement warm-up to loosen the body and spark ideas, then move into guided exploration through drawing, mark-making or collaborative exercises. The main activity is inspired by a theme, story or visual idea, followed by a calm ending and a short reflection where children can share their artwork and thoughts. The pace is playful, supportive and designed to keep children engaged without feeling rushed. WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR Art & Movement is ideal for children who enjoy active, sensory and hands-on creativity. It is especially well suited to children who benefit from physical engagement before sitting to make, who enjoy exploring textures and materials, or who respond well to imaginative, movement-based learning. OUR TEACHING APPROACH Sessions are led by experienced art educators who balance creativity with gentle movement prompts and clear guidance. We support each child at their own pace, offering encouragement, structure and space to explore freely in a warm, non-competitive environment. MATERIALS & OUTCOME All materials are provided. Children create expressive artworks that reflect both movement and making, while building confidence, creative freedom and a deeper connection between physical expression and art.
