Service Description
Art & Movement is a joyful weekend session designed to help children connect their bodies and imaginations through expressive, hands-on creative play. These sessions encourage freedom, curiosity and physical engagement — helping young artists feel grounded, confident and inspired as they create. Through guided movement, mark-making, sensory exploration and themed creative prompts, children learn to express ideas not only with their hands, but with their whole body. What children experience Art & Movement brings together both creative practice and gentle physical expression, offering activities such as: • large-scale collaborative painting • movement-based mark-making (with brushes, sponges, rollers, objects) • storytelling through gesture, shapes and lines • exploring rhythm, flow and pattern • drawing warm-ups that engage the whole body • building sculptures using motion and balance • mindful art activities focused on breath and relaxation This blend of art and movement helps children develop spatial awareness, confidence, fine and gross motor skills — all while having fun. A balanced, expressive session Each class follows a gentle, structured rhythm: 1. Warm-up movement to loosen the body and spark imagination 2. Guided exploration using mark-making, drawing or collaborative exercises 3. Main creative activity inspired by a theme, story or artistic concept 4. Calm-down art moment (gentle drawing, texture work, or sensory materials) 5. Group reflection where children can share their ideas and artwork The pace is calm, playful and designed to keep children engaged without feeling rushed. Who this session is ideal for Art & Movement is perfect for children who: • enjoy active, sensory, hands-on creativity • benefit from physical engagement before sitting to create • love working big, exploring textures or expressing ideas in unconventional ways • find traditional seated art sessions too structured or restrictive • thrive in imaginative, playful, confidence-building environments It’s also a wonderful weekend option for children with lots of energy or those who benefit from movement-based learning. Our teaching approach Sessions are led by experienced art educators who balance creativity with gentle movement prompts. We support each child at their own pace, offering encouragement, guidance and space to explore freely in a non-competitive environment. Materials & outcomes All materials are provided.
