
About the classes
Join us for a relaxed and inspiring weekly adult art class led by Art Loft teacher Ziggy.
The classes are taught in a small group, allowing Ziggy to introduce each material and technique step by step while also offering individual guidance throughout the session.
Participants will explore and experiment with a range of mediums, developing their skills, confidence and creative approach over time.
Topics and techniques to be explored include:

Acrylic painting, colour theory and colour mixing

Watercolour washes, blending and building tone

Charcoal still life, light, shadow and reflection

Colour pencil layering, gradients and blending

Drawing, composition and visual observation

Mixed media and guided projects inspired by landscapes, animals, flowers and everyday objects
Some projects may be completed within one session, while others may continue over several classes. Participants can work at their own pace and build on their skills from week to week.
Who the class is for:
The classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous art experience.

Meet Your Teacher: Ziggy

Zhigang is an illustrator and experienced art teacher based in London. Originally from China, he holds an MA in Illustration with Distinction from Arts University Bournemouth and has spent around ten years teaching art to children of different ages. He previously ran his own art studio, where he taught drawing and painting, organised workshops and exhibitions, and helped children grow in confidence through creative practice. Alongside his professional illustration work, he also supports community art workshops in London, including sessions for artists with learning disabilities and autism. At The Art Loft, Zhigang teaches Art 1, Art 2 and Art Focus, where he encourages children to explore ideas, materials and mixed media in a supportive and inspiring environment.
