About the classes
Join us for a relaxed and inspiring weekly adult art class led by Art Loft teacher Ziggy.
The classes are taught in a small group, allowing Ziggy to introduce each material and technique step by step while also offering individual guidance throughout the session.
Participants will explore and experiment with a range of mediums, developing their skills, confidence and creative approach over time.
Classes can be booked for the full term at a reduced weekly rate, or as individual drop-in sessions subject to availability.
Topics and techniques to be explored include:

Acrylic painting, colour theory and colour mixing

Watercolour washes, blending and building tone

Charcoal still life, light, shadow and reflection

Colour pencil layering, gradients and blending

Drawing, composition and visual observation

Mixed media and guided projects inspired by landscapes, animals, flowers and everyday objects
Some projects may be completed within one session, while others may continue over several classes. Participants can work at their own pace, with term students having the opportunity to build on their skills and longer projects from week to week. Drop-in students are equally welcome to join individual sessions.
Who the class is for:
The classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous art experience.

Meet Your Teacher: Ziggy
Zhigang Zang is an illustrator, artist and experienced art teacher based in London. Originally from China, he holds an MA in Illustration with Distinction from Arts University Bournemouth and has developed a professional practice spanning illustration, drawing, painting and mixed media.
Alongside his own creative work, Zhigang has around ten years of teaching experience, working with both children and adults. He previously ran his own art studio, where he taught drawing and painting, organised workshops and exhibitions, and supported students in developing technical skills, confidence and their own creative approach.
He is also involved in community art workshops in London, including sessions supporting artists with learning disabilities and autism.
At The Art Loft, Zhigang leads our Adult Art Classes as well as Art 1, Art 2, Art Focus and Anime & Manga Drawing. His teaching combines clear step-by-step guidance with individual support, encouraging students to experiment with materials, develop their own visual language and build confidence in their creative practice.
