Service Description
Studio programme for students aged 12+ who are preparing for GCSE or A-Level Art, developing coursework, building an art portfolio or considering further study in art and design. Based at The Art Loft in Putney, London, these sessions offer individual guidance tailored to each student’s schoolwork, creative goals and portfolio development. Students are encouraged to bring current coursework, sketchbooks, project briefs and ongoing work so that support can be directly relevant to what they are studying. What Students Learn Depending on individual needs, sessions may include: * GCSE and A-Level Art coursework development * sketchbook development and annotation * observational drawing and technical skills * composition, proportion, perspective, colour and tone * acrylic, watercolour and mixed-media techniques * experimentation with materials and processes * developing ideas from research through to final outcomes * artist research and creative responses * refining and presenting finished work * building a strong and cohesive art portfolio Individual Art Support Unlike a general art class, this programme is shaped around each student’s own projects and goals. Our educators provide thoughtful one-to-one guidance while encouraging students to develop their own ideas, artistic voice and creative independence. For GCSE and A-Level students, sessions can provide additional time and support to strengthen coursework, explore ideas more deeply and improve technical confidence. Portfolio Preparation Students preparing for art, design, illustration, architecture or other creative pathways can also receive guidance with selecting work, developing personal projects and presenting a varied and considered portfolio for further study. Materials & Outcomes All general studio materials are included. Students are welcome to bring their own sketchbooks, coursework and school projects. Over time, students will develop stronger technical skills, greater confidence and a more personal body of work suitable for GCSE or A-Level Art, examinations and future portfolio applications.
